…and I’m extremely happy in having made this small investment. As I mentioned in my previous article here https://weightlossjourney.car.blog/2019/10/08/i-let-myself-go-once-again/, I cannot go through this journey alone, for many reasons. This is why I decided to work with a distance-training program, and last week I received the program for the first six weeks.
IT. IS. A. KILLER. WORKOUT.
The workout plan I received was perfectly customised for my current level and needs, it varies a lot so it’s never boring, and it is exactly what I need right now. Compared to every other workout plan that I made for myself, this one has the right amount of ‘edge’ that I need. What I mean by that is that it has exactly the right amount of ‘extra’ intensity that I was never able to plan out for myself, perhaps thinking that it would be too much. In doing so, I never really pushed myself as I should have. Instead, with a workout plan made by a professional trainer that knows what he’s doing, and knows what I’m able to do, I found out that yes, I can do that extra exercise, I can do that extra set, even if at the moment I’d feel like fainting on the floor.
And, it felt so good. Good to look myself in the mirror after the last rep, telling myself: you did it. Today, you completed the reps and exercises you didn’t think you were able to do.
But, professionals know best. They know what a human body is capable or not capable of, they know the potential and the struggle of an overweight person trying to lose weight, and you have to trust them. Even if halfway through your workout you wish you’d send everything to hell and go home to get some rest.
I truly thought it was too much: a circuit training with lunges AND squat, to be repeated FOUR TIMES?! I will be honest: I had a few breaks in between reps, and rested longer than what was mentioned on the program. I took two, two and a half minutes break in between sets, rather than a minute, but honestly in some moments I felt like I would collapse, if I didn’t stop; by doing so, I could make it up to the very end of the training, and felt proud of myself.
I obviously trust that things are going to get better with time, as this was week 1. The next 5 weeks are going to be pretty much the same, three times per week in the gym, eating clean, reducing drinks and smoke, going to sleep earlier. It is definitely a dramatic lifestyle change, but I feel the benefits already, even just after a week.
Stay tuned for the work in progress updates!
Sounds like you’ve had a knackering week! Well done for sticking to your exercises and for the reductions.
