Who am I?

My name is Giulia, I am 29, and I am 30 kg overweight.

Yeah I know, it sounds like the beginning of one of those anonymous alcoholics meet up, but it is what it is. I may say a thousand things to introduce myself, but if you are reading this, it means that you googled some very specific keywords, which magically redirected you to this page: my weight loss journey blog.

Why am I writing this?

Well… thousands of reasons.

The internet is full of websites, blogs, pages, videos and stuff about how to lose weight and be healthier, before and after photos, healthy recipes, success stories; what I personally would like to see more is a periodic update on people that are going through the process, all the struggles, difficulties and cravings that no one tells you are going to happen.

We all know how to lose weight: eat less (and better) and workout more. Easy, right?

Well, if it was that easy, everybody would be fit and healthy. The reason not all people are, is because it is freakin’ hard to live a healthy lifestyle, and in most cases, what is lacking is motivation, perseverance, willpower, and a thousands of other reasons. Eating clean and working out is only the tip of the iceberg: the hardest thing of it all is actually steering your mind in the right direction, staying on track for as long as possible, and resist – day by day – to the temptation to just lay in bed after work, eat a burger and think ‘yeah I’ll postpone the gym to tomorrow’.

The purpose of this blog is to share my personal journey with whoever wants to read what I have to say, keeping in mind that it is my personal journey and I do not claim to be a role model, or an example to follow, because what would work for me might not work for you; we are all different one to another, and this is why the world is a beautiful place.

I will write articles, post photos, keep this virtual diary because I believe it is going to help me to be focused on the result, at the same time enjoying the process a bit more. Consistency is the key, they say…

You are more than welcome to follow, comment, read and share!

You are NOT welcome if you are a judgemental hater, arrogant enough to believe you know what’s best for other people.

A big fat welcome to my journey, let’s see where this will bring me!
