Finally, gyms are open again. Only after coming back to the gym I realised how much I missed it. It doesn’t matter how many sports or training types I try: weightlifting is the only activity that I genuinely enjoy, allowing me to be more consistent.
The 1-month, train from home program that I tried, I did not complete: I simply couldn’t stand working out from home after an entire day working from home as well. The result is that I stopped with all my fitness programs during this quarantine, which in the Netherlands lasted approximately 3 months.
Gyms are open again now, with a strict distancing and cleaning protocol (I am impressed to see people cleaning gym tools every time after finishing). God if I missed the muscular soreness of the day after. I started again with the program custom made by my personal trainer from Italy, which was showing great results before I had to interrupt due to the lockdown. It’s a combination of upper, lower and total body workouts, three times a week, with weights but with functional movements: this means less machines as possible, exercises involving different muscles (yes, burpees are there), everything you need to keep that blood flowing up and down.
Oh, another small success: I haven’t smoked in two days! It seems like nothing but trust me, it is. I really hope to keep moving in this direction, as I am feeling great.
No special updates for now, I simply needed to post an update because I’m extremely happy of lifting weights again!
