…and I’m proud of it!
One issue I noticed, when working out I constantly compare myself to others. Very few people are in a ‘bad’ shape in my gym: most of them are committed individuals, doing mostly ‘maintenance’ work. I see their perfect bodies, no back rolls, fit arms, legs and abs, and – most definitely – none of them has the issue of entering a regular clothing shop and not finding anything in their size.
It takes a lot of effort, but… stop doing that! Everybody has to start somewhere, and I know I am no less than them: I only have a longer way to walk.
One of the golden rules of working out is: do NOT compare yourself to others. You may take them as inspiration, to share success stories and keep you motivated, but never ever think that that person is better than you because he/she is in a better shape.
Focus on yourself, your goals and how to get there, the rest doesn’t matter!
so true! i do home exercises, and the trainer says, don’t compare yourself to me or anyone doing the programme, everyone started somewhere, everyone was a beginner once 🙂
